No Screen Output for Acer Aspire one ZG5 / AOA150

My Acer Aspire One ZG5 netbook has just all of a sudden not displaying output in the screen. Although there is harddisk activity, it's like as if it went completely dead.

I came across this site, followed the steps and it worked like magic. Thanks to Rainbow_Demon for posting it. Credits gooes to him. Everything is appreciated.

1. Go to the acer website and http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_one_150.html

2. Download the bios update 3309

3. Open the folder and copy two files to a formatted fat usb stick.

4. Rename the file FLASHIT to FLASHIT.EXE and the second file 3309.fd(bios file) to ZG5IA32.FD rename them precisely. Double check spelling is correct.

5. Insert the usb stick into the usb left hand side make sure the charger is plugged in.

6. Hold down keys fn & esc and power up the laptop, when the power led begins to blink release the two buttons and press the power button just once, observe the usb stick flashing indicating it's flashing the bios, please note this can take a few attempts.

Reminder: Spyware/Malware infection

I’ve been seeing a great number of spam emails lately going in my inbox (good thing they’re not coming from office account). This prompted me to remind everyone to be extra careful when you received email of such. This email normally has a link that when clicked will automatically download spyware/malware or virus in your computer.

As rule of thumb, never ever click links in email no matter how normal or ordinary they may look like (especially if you didn’t expect receiving it). Verify first from the sender if it was sent directly to you.

As an example, the link above can install a malware program called Total Security Protection Center (as pictured below). Once you are infected (because you clicked the link you received in email), a report will keep on popping your screen showing you a summary list of the infected files or the infections you have in your computer. This annoying scam pop up will keep on asking you to download the program to disinfect your files and computer, but the truth is, it’s just trying to trick you to pay its licensed version. This is not only annoying but it can slow down your computer and worse, it even gather personal information or activities in your computer.

Dell N5010 Wireless Card conflict

Just installed Windows 7 Professional-64 bit on my colleagues Dell N5010 laptop. When I check the device manager, the WLAN kept showing a conflict symbol. So spent hours figuring why the wireless driver is not being installed.

I went to the Dell website (which obviously not helpful enough) to download all possible drivers but it kept saying that it is not compatible with the device. I tried Intel Wireless Pro to automatically detect the brand or model of the wireless adapter/card but it says that it's not installed.

After countless of trial (forgive my exaggeration, I almost gave up) I came across dell community forum and found a response thread, (thanks man for your goodwill) posted his accidental discovery and solution about the problem. I had to do the same by manually installing the driver R252544 (Go to Device Manager, right click the conflict, choose manual update and browse to the place where the driver was extracted) and after that it worked like magic.

wifi channel

Had just installed and configured 5 routers in accomodations under the company. One particular router was acting strange. Despite that all lights are on, the signal is broadcasting, wireless adapters doesn't detect the SSID.
In an article I read about wireless troubleshooting, changing the channel can help.
So I went to configuration and changed channel from 1 to 3 and in seconds, worked like a charm.

Wow! It's been quite some time the last I visited my blog. My avid viewers were asking (any) updates about the things going on my life. They've missed my full spirited adventures. For most who do not know, I'm now in the place where I didn't imagine I would be. A place where a different kind of culture is being delved in my system. It's not the way it used to. Morally, (in my humble opinion) I think we're just of the same level. But the corruption in politics, Philippines is INCOMPARABLE! Thank goodness, I can find peace in my spirit here. HAHAHAHA

Most do not know where I am and some might even be surprised upon knowing. People close to me were even asking if this was a good idea in the first place. Too late hahaha I'm already here. And I'm making the most out of it. 'Stupid is as Stupid does' is what Forrest Gump reasons whenever he's actions are being questioned, but hey, I think there was some sort of a force that droved me flying here. As long as our intentions are good, God is going to be good to us. He will provide.

In my first two weeks of stay, I was visited by close friends and have met former officemates. It really is a small world. I realized that if you've planted good seeds, in due time, you'll get good fruits in return. Despite of being away from mother land, I can stay that I'm beginning to feel at home. Friends, relatives and loved ones I left home are just half missed(hehehe). Thanks to the power of technology I can still get in touch with them.

I have a personal goal why I was here. Now that I've started a new life, I will one by one fulfill them.

I'll surely add more posts here. Hopefully, you'll see more graphics on how this place looks, including what to expect. This way, you could have a well planned trip if you decided to venture a different kind in the middle east.

I don't intend to pose an entire photo album in this entry hehehe. I just can't help but share my awe about the magnificent view of the infamous Mt. Pinatubo. Who would ever forget the most catastrophic event of the 20th century that took lives and had left thousands and thousands homeless.

That was June 1991 when everyone was struck by that atomic bomb like sound and shook the central part of Luzon. Afterwards, a form of cauliflower clouds filled the sky. Out of ignorance all the students were jumping in glory as if there were celebrities performing, when all they've been waiting was for classes to be suspended. (I think I'm guilty of that hehehe)

I was 14 years old when Mt. Pinatubo gave it's series of eruption. For a kid who had an actual experience of the incident, I thought it's going to be the end of the world. In a sense that the day turned out night and there was non stop rain of ash, sand and stones.

Now, after the devastation that almost erased nearby towns and provinces on the map, even spreading volcanic ashes and pyroclastic maover the neighboring asian countries here's what it looks like. The once dreaded and feared Mt. Pinatubo, now resting and giving you a piece of cinematic approach to entertain your naked eyes.

Despite of it's beauty, this should still remind us of what nature is capable of.

Looks like you have just been warped (hehehe). It really is on the Mt. Pinatubo site, the aftermath that is. After my sister saw the picturesque scenery, she uttered in amazement, "I thought it was in Canada or in Hawaii" (hehehe). It really is amazing.

And it looks like I was just standing beside a painting.

The skyway that day was not passable because of the previous monsoon, this is the reason we took the long way. For first timers, going up will take roughly 3 hours and 30 mins. That's because as you go along, you can't help but stop, look and take shots of the mountain like formations of lahar.

Like in any hiking adventure, climbing up is the BIGGEST challenge. So before you take a stride, check first if there's no weather disturbance around the area. Otherwise, you'll just gonna waste your time. You may not even make it to the crater like what happened to others. Department of Tourism will not allow you to trek as the place will completely not passable. And even if they will, hiking will be a lot challenging. So better check the forecast before you set that date.

We're all set. This is the drop off point and the meeting place back when done trekking.

And I'm getting ready for that BIG step of my life.

Reaching the crater lake entices you to take a dip... it's blue-greenish color appears when it's receiving that much rain. According to our guide, the algae microorganism is so much alive.
I was afraid at first because I thought it has sulfur. But eventually, I felt I was being drawn by it's beauty. Then what the heck...despite of my worries of changing or rinsing after, I took that plunge. It was very deep, peaceful and very cold. The complete opposite of the once angry and ravaging crater 17 years ago.

Here's the hard part for me. I don't know where to change... there's no fresh water available. So I just brought my stuff back with a small itch in my butt (hehehe)

We can only stay for two hours because the sun is starting to set. These months has shorter daylight so we have to catch up before we crawl in the dark.

Whew!!!! At last... Reaching the meeting place safe and sound. DOT even sent a group of Army soldier to standby just incase an unfortunate situation happens. Good thing we're all A-ok.
What I need now is a full body massage...hehehe

Healing Our Bodies

One of the most powerful wonders being present in our physical form is human touch. Comforting touch allows us to access the part of ourselves that yearns for a sense of oneness with the world around us. Even simple forms of touch connect us not just to our bodies but also to the energetic presence of other people.

There are so many ways to incorporate touch in our daily lives, one of the easiest being a heartfelt embrace. Just making a point to hug someone on a daily basis and really feel our energy pass between each other can strengthen the bonds that keep us together. Hugs help us heal any hurt or upset we may have recently experienced by letting us release into the moment of the embrace and realize that no matter what happens to us, we have someone in our lives who supports and cares for us.

Another nourishing form of touch is massage. While we may think of massage as a luxury, it is actually an ancient form of healing that enables us to open up our energetic pathways in order to receive unlimited energy from the universe. It doesn't matter whether a simple massage comes from a loved one or a massage therapist, but by giving ourselves the gift of massage every once in a while, we are doing something healthy and beneficial for our bodies. In these days of high fuel cost, it's still quite hard to imagine how jet-setting is not as glamorous as it once seemed. Before, one must have a huge amount on their bank accounts before they can go on trip. Thank goodness we now have low fare airlines making our passion for international whirl just as easy as going to the city. It's practical, economical and frugal. I just booked the flight that my family is going to have. Writing about it was the very first thought I have the moment I reached my place. This will be the very first time we'll spend a trip altogether. And I'm so sure it will not be the last. I'm so excited about the bonding that we will spend in a foreign land. I kept on telling them that this is the reason why we sweat ourselves off at work. When the time comes that you want to spend a good time, unwind and relax, this is one of the many ways you can enjoy the fruit of your labor.

To reward yourself of the hard work and to enjoy the blessings that God has endowed you is one of the most wonderful things we as human can celebrate. I believe that traveling abroad doesn't need to be lavish. Just as long as you set yourself in an expectation ...and mind condition, regarding your real purpose of the trip. You still have to think that there's going to be tomorrow. Otherwise, you will enjoy yourself 3 feet under debt or worst behind bars. HAHAHA

For me, I do it to sustain the motivation, especially if you get tired and bored of doing the same thing over and over again. Second, to become invisible.At least you get to try new things without the fear of getting yourself in front page (talk of the town that is ...hahaha). And lastly, to stretch my comfort zone. By doing this I get to know distant lands, their culture, practice and beliefs. I experience things that you can't just read on books, magazine and newspaper. I become knowledgeable. And I become confident.

I believe that Life is a grand adventure. And any life worth living is worth putting in writing. Don't you agree? (hehehe) Stay tuned for more updates.

Things You Can Tell by Looking at Your Face

Not really sure if they are true as there really is no proof nor scientific basis proving their legitimacy, but it's worth giving a check.

Seeing a swollen face in the mirror is a source of stress for people in the morning. Some blame lack of sleep while some others blame the instant noodles or alcohol they indulged in the day before.

However, sometimes, it's not that simple. The various parts of our face are said to correspond to particular organs in the body and skin trouble may indicate some part of your body needs attention.

1. Forehead: Your forehead tells you about your chest area. If a rash or strange wrinkle suddenly appears on your forehead, you may have lung trouble; but if your forehead goes red, you heart may be in trouble.

2. Eyes: Eyes show your liver and intestine condition. If your eyes are red too often, or tears from for no apparent reason, your liver may be out of sorts. If you flip back your eyelids and find your capillaries lack redness, you may be suffering from anemia.

3. Nose: The nose is related to the livers and aspiratory organs. If you have a rash on your nose, you may have lung problems. An ongoing red nose could indicate liver troubles.

4. Mouth: Mouth, lips and tongues show the condition of the digestive organs.
If you have sores on your lips, you may have gastritis. However, if you have irritation around your mouth or chin, it could indicate uterus, ovary or sex-organ trouble.

5. Teeth: The teeth relate to the kidneys. If your teeth break or decay easily, this could indicate a lack of calcium, which is related to kidney malfunctioning.

6. Cheek: Pimples on your right cheek could mean too much heat in the lungs. Pimples on the left cheek could mean liver trouble.

7. Hair: Silky black hair indicates good blood circulation and hormonal condition. Prematurely graying hair could mean kidney trouble.

Of course not every rash or pimple indicates organic problems. However, looking at your face in the mirror for just a minute each day will help you get in touch with and understand your body better.

Not everything you read and see in the internet is true. The best way keep healthy is to eat a balance diet, eat right on time, have enough rest and sweat yourself off to eliminate toxins in the body.

Palakol is what the locals of Floridablanca named this stream of water in our hometown. But for the people of Central Luzon, it is the Gumain River. It's just about 15 to 25 mins away from home. I was surprised to see how it looks right now. Considering how badly damaged it was when Mount Pinatubo erupted. It was what the lahar used to spread it's damaging punch across the town. All the while, locals thought that it will no longer be revived. But if there's a way, it will make a way. Was that right? (hahaha)

Roughly about 21 years since I've been here. I was still a kid the last time my family and I spent our summer picnic at this place. It even left a mark on my chin after I stumbled on big stone. Those were the days and you can see the excitement of coming back (hehehe) ...though not anymore interested taking a dip.

I used to remember, the current is strong and it's perfect to soothe you from the heat of the summer. Now, it's no longer that familiar to the generation of today as there are already small but competitive resorts just about in every corner in the town. There used to be a field of boulders here. But it was cleared to give way to the construction of the Subic Clark Tarlac express way (SCTex).

Here you see the Aetas crossing. Going to the next town near the border of Zambales. I admire their endurance walking barefooted under the scorching sun. It's a refreshing way for them taking a dip.

It's so good to be back in this place.Although it was changed by time, it brings the good 'ol memories of my childchood days.

It's better to give than to receive...but

As we approach the last days of October we begin to feel that holiday season is coming near. Every time I report to work at night, I see the twinkling of the Christmas lights giving life to an edifice that was once dull, then there's the countdowns, Christmas songs being played and not to mention shopping malls decorated and dressed up inviting you to be in one with them in an early celebration.

This reminds me of the yearly gift giving we Filipinos observe. Thanking the almighty for the blessings we received. Hmmm hold on, Christmas is not what I intend to write on this entry. This season just reminds me of the adage we've grown hearing "It's better to give than to receive". Yes, that's what I really want to write about. Sorry, if I swerved a little bit. It's intentional though to give you a little twist. hehehe

Now going back, I find this true most of the time, the adage that is. Because it means that you (as a giver) have sufficient or that there's enough blessing to enjoy and to celebrate. I can also say that giving is a privilege, given the fact that you become a blessing to those who receives. Because out of your hard work, you have something in you to keep the day and even the next day going, without any fear.

Giving is not limited to tangible things as it can be manifested on other ways such as giving your friendship, giving your unconditional love or just about giving a hand to someone in need. When we hear giving, we mostly associate it to financial stuff. We can't blame anyone for that. I think its how our culture shaped us. One thing I've proven is that when you give, the flow of the blessing becomes abundant, especially if it's done the right way. Yes, there is wrong and there's proper way. Therefore, we got to be cautious because we want to prevent getting trapped on pitfalls.

You probably may ask what pitfall? Here's a thing, we can't deny the fact that we live in a third world country. And for some, day to day life is becoming a survival of the fittest. There are reasons why some people live like this; that's because their actions choose to be on that direction or that it's the consequence of the actions they've done.

Giving doesn't stop the moment you hand it over. We also have the responsibility to make the person understand how he can make what he received flourish. Or at least make'em understand it's value, that it was from your sweat and blood or that you have deprived yourself of something (that you want) just to help them on that need (not in a condescending way of course). Don't just give them fish, teach them how to fish. And saying "NO" at times doesn't make you a bad or a selfish person. Because once this became a habit, it can be physically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually draining. You're putting yourself in a pit, especially if the person receiving doesn't have any compassion and are just after of what they can get.

I'd like to leave my final note something worth to ponder. This was taken from the bible in which most of us use to make our lives worth living. "If a man will not work, he shall not eat." 2 Thessalonians 3:10 and "Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth". Proverbs 10:4

It's been quite a while the last time I thought of posting these photos in my blog. I can't find the right time because I'm having problems with the server where I uploaded it. I wanted to share an adventure of a lifetime that took place in Sagada, Mountain Province. The place is so serene and people are so friendly! And you can enjoy the tranquility of nature. Unruffled from the stress of the metropolis.

It was one of the most unforgettable. You know why? I was praying fervently to get safely home. You really must have the guts to endure the long travel and not to mention the steep cliffs when you glance at your window. Visiting Sagada gets you connected with nature.

One of the attractions Sagada is famous for is it's caves. This limestone formation is in between the Lumiang and Sumaging caves connection. Shaped and curved by time, thus, exploring it will definitely get you wet. So you are encouraged to bring appropriate gear and suit to make the exploration more enjoyable.

Hiking inside the cold cave would be very challenging especially for neophytes. You get to perform different stunts because you climb vertically, horizontally and you crawl on small openings as you hop on steep walls. You can be barefooted if that makes you comfortable. But those Sandugo type slippers are best on this kind of trip.

Check this out. Only in Sagada that you can find this. It's what makes the place and the people so unique. A pile of coffins at the entrance of the cave. There were also hanging coffins. This is the traditional burial of Sagadians.

Local tourist guide are available and can be arranged at a reasonable amount. You can directly visit the municipal hall for registration so you can be guided on what places to visit and most specially where you can dine.

Local version of bangkok?

Most of my friends who have seen these photos thought that I 've set my foot again on another adventure trip in a foreign land. A smart assumption of their expression would be, "oh! this is Thailand". So I guess you were fooled as well. Who would have thought that it is not? (hehehe)

Yep, that's right, you're eyes are not deceiving you. If going to different places is your passion, then there's a taste of asian spirit that's just right for you... without hurting your wallet.

A place where you'll see a different twist of the Philippines, but the hosptality is still experienced in the traditional filipino way. An ambiance with a touch of buddism. The very first experience (of a kind) I had locally.

"Isdaan", is what people call it. Offers freshly catched fish cooked in different style that's just right for you. Just about 50 km. away (approx an hour) from the city of friendship, Angeles. The landmark is in the town of Gerona and is very visible when you pass along the national highway of Tarlac when going up north. Those massive statues of muscular men holding a big catch will surely get your attention.

After enjoying a sumptuous meal, you can start taking snaps of what the place is famous for. I know that that's what you are after, because you can tell your friends, or you can fool them too, that you went on a bangkok trip. If they haven't been here, then an intelligent guess would be, you have tricked them successfully.

And giving you a little bit of trivia courtesy of Wikipedia, did you know that the "Isdaan Fresh Catch Restaurant" is owned and managed by Rod Ongpauco, the same one who owns the Barrio Fiesta chain of restaurants? Suprised? I was too!

It's one of those must haves place to visit. And I assure you, you'll enjoy it and definitely crave coming back. What's the next place to go?

health is wealth

Health is wealth, as the old adage goes. It's one of the first that I've learned and the first that I used when started filling out those fancy slum notes in my second grade. Never realized its real meaning and that it became a BIG DEAL after I came across a certain chronic illness. Yeah, it's chronic; therefore I gotta be careful with what I eat because it is mostly influenced by the kind of diet that I consume. The manifestation of elevated uric acid could trigger my gout. This was due to the fact that my kidney cannot excrete well the excess uric acid that my body produces.

At first, I was confused after knowing the doctor's diagnosis of my condition. I’m in a state of confusion because I'm a person who practices and observes clean living. I don't smoke and I don't drink alcohol just to name few. So where the hell did I get this? Or how did I ever have this?

Then, I was pissed off. Way pissed offffff (can't count the number of f's from there hehehe) because as advised by my physician, I cannot eat just any kind of food. Now, eating is becoming paranoia. If you’ve seen those cartoon characters being stopped by an exclamation point on top of their head, that happens to me every meal. I have to ask every time what are its ingredients. Got to make sure that there’s no such that’s high in uric acid. Otherwise, the effect would be a disaster. It is a disaster because of the excruciating pain. When it triggers, it’s affecting me not only physically but also emotionally and psychologically.

I’m just envious of those people who can eat whatever they want without an immediate adverse effect on their health. Although exercise can help, high impact exercises are not recommended. It could possibly strain my joints and can even damage the cartilage. I want to blame the genes, yeah, yeah…but I can’t. They were inherent the moment I was born. Therefore, I don’t have a choice so I just mumble hehehe.

Having the right mind set was one of the first move I made to accept what I have. Then, I just need to focus on the things that I have control. So now, I’m in a state of “be careful of what you eat” (now used to it) so I could prevent those possibly sleepless attacks of the gout. Lastly, continuous research of my current condition that even if I skip some food, thru alternative but natural means, I don’t deprive myself of the nutrients that my body needs. Because knowing more about it is my best defense against future attacks.

In this day and age, owning a cell phone is about as special as using your tooth brush every night before bed.And if you haven't noticed, I think that 99% of the teen and adult population has cellular phone. But wait, that's not all. About 50% of these has more than one.Yeah, more than one unit. And maintaining more than one carrier. Whew! Just imagine the cost! And they’ll really catch you of their handy size,cute stylish effects and their multi purpose features.

It's so unbelievable how technology has gone far. Who would have thought that it would end the era of Beeper or Pager which we thought was so perfect during its time.

Let’s give it a fair share. It was not an instant hip when it first became available in the market. I used to remember those bulky fridge-type phones where you climb up high on trees or on your rooftop just to get a signal. Geeze! Now, one of the reasons of the demand is it's accessibility almost everywhere and anywhere.

Most, if not everything, became so easy when cellular phone became popular. If you need something or someone, they’re just a text away. And if you're a bit in a hurry, you can call them in just a snap of a key. Just hope that the other line is not on silent mode or that the person you texted still has remaining load... hehehe...

For some people, however, these gadget must-haves cause more trouble than they're worth(I don't need to expound myself further on that). For others, they are literally a life-saver (indeed). And for most, it’s their means to get in touch with the people they love (now I'm beginning to I love my phone). Either way, they often make life just a bit more odd. Don’t you agree? hehehe

My very first out of the country experience. This is the Universal Studios, located in the heart of Osaka City of Japan. The accommodation was courtesy of my brother in law (thanks kuya Perry) who works in the same theme park. It was one of the best experiences I had.

I encourage you to experience the Japanese culture. You'll be amazed at how far this country had gone because of their technology, sense of nationalism and discipline. I've never seen people so honest and friendly, contrary to what we've learned in history about Japanese cruelty. No wonder they've progressed and left our country including other nations million miles.

Sometimes we get angry out of our extreme displease on events or situation brought to us by careless and inconsiderate people. We exhibit strong feeling of emotion that sometimes we don’t care if the words we said could mean or bring long term damage to one’s life. When we’re angry, it is so important that we think before we speak. Because once a hateful word has been said, it can no longer be revoked. Worst, it could even destroy a friendship or a relationship.

At the end of the day, it’s humbling to say sorry to those we’ve hurt or ask for apology to those we’ve wronged. Let’s not forget the valuable lessons of life. Unload that burden in your heart.

Sushi is one of the most popular Japanese cuisine. It captured my heart and my tastes buds when I visited the beautiful city of Osaka.

Yesterday, I made my own version. I used tuna and ripe mango. Check out the pic. Not bad for a starter (it's my first ever). It’s so obvious that I still need some polishing, but I'm proud of what I've done hehehe (Thanks to those who have posted their sushi making vids in you tube. Very informative).

Next time I'll add crab sticks and cucumber. Plus, now that I know some techniques and other ingredients to make it flavorful, it’ll surely make my next mouth watering. I'm still considering other version called Sashimi, but I'm not yet ready for it at this time.

It’s good to discover and learn new things. Now, I have some in the fridge. Anytime I'm hungry, I'll just grab myself a bite.

Tourists are welcome but you can only be up to the 41st and 42nd floor where the highest skybridge is located. And yes, accomodation is free. With their friendly employees, you will enjoy your visit to this world famous landmark.

Last month, I bought an ENHWI-G2, 802.11 Wireless Router manufactured by Encore Electronics.

I was so excited to hook it thinking I could easily make it work with my connection and two laptops. I configured, and then attempted to connect. Nahhhh..Didn't work. Changed the settings, reconfigure, tried it again. Nope. Not successful. Reconfigured, tried again. Until finally, I want to bang it on the wall until it's crushed into pieces. LOLs

After several attempts of figuring out how to make it work, I finally made it (otherwise I won't be writing this hahaha). I was laughing at myself because the solution was so easy. Setting it up was not complicated. But trying to make it work with my connection and two laptops became my challenge. Yes, it was trial and error. And it took me a thousand times I'd thought I lost sanity. Partially, I think I did hehehe.

The thing here is if you can't fix it seating 4 or 5 hours (in a day, WHOA!), give yourself a rest. If there's no deadline to meet, you can probably continue the day after.

Sometimes, the idea to solve a problem comes when you least expect it. And usually it comes when you're mind is gazing into nothing. All it takes is courage and the WILL to fix it. It doesn't matter how fast, long or short it maybe...

What is important is that there's optimism inside that tells you, you can make it. Patience is really a virtue and when you're runing out of patience trying to figure something out, rest.

Especially if you're trying to hone the skill of persistence. But when the going gets tough and you still can't find the answers, it's free to ask. Requires only simple gestures.

But sometimes,having that ego, pride and that little thought of "they might think of me as a lesser person" was quite a killer, and NO you're not on the latter.

15 Gas Saving Tips

In the recent years the oil prices has more than doubled. Because of political disputes, conflicts in oil-producing areas as well the rise in consumption, the crude oil prices, and thus the fuel prices, will not drop significantly in the next years. If drivers would know and follow some tips on economy driving, millions of dollars would be saved in fuel cost.

These tips do not require any additional equipment purchase and can be followed by anyone, no matter the type of vehicle you are driving.

A common mistake people do is to warp up the engine in excess. Modern cars do not require you to warm up the motor for a long period. You can reduce the fuel consumption if your warming up period is reduce to up to 45 seconds.

After you have warmed the engine, do not forget to disengage the choke, because if it will get stuck, the engine will receive a wrong mixture of fuel and air and it will function abnormally.

Avoid as much as you can starting and stopping the engine repeatedly. You can idle the car, as one minute of idling your engine will result in the same fuel consumption as staring the motor.

Do not rev your engine needlessly. And do not make another common mistake, to rev the motor prior to shutting it down. If you so this, fuel will be consumed in vain and oil will wash down from the cylinders, leading to a loss of oil pressure.

When you start the car from a dead stop, accelerate slowly until you reach the desired cruising speed. Do not press the acceleration pedal to more than ¼ of its travel, as it will pump gas in vain.

Another trick is to buy fuel when the weather is the coldest during the day, usually early mornings or the evenings. you get more this way, because when cold gasoline, is denser. The pump will only measure the total volume of gasoline, not its density.

Chose the best type of gasoline on the market, as it will be cleaner than other types.

Never fill the gas tank past the first click of the fuel nozzle of the car.

There are also tips on driving your car in an economic manner.

Avoid speeding. If your car exceeds 40mph, you force your engine to work in excess to break the air resistance.

The speed limits are imposed for safety reasons, but respecting them can bring you fuel economy. You will save up to 21% more fuel if you travel with 55mph compared to driving with 70 miles per hour.

Remember, keeping you transmission in a low gear will eat up more gas than running in a higher one. Cars with manual transmissions let you decide the gear you want to travel in and obtain better fuel economy. But do not under-rev the engine, as it will prematurely wear off.

Drive as much as you can with your windows up, because at high speeds, having an open window can raise your fuel consumption with up to10%.

Try to impose a steady rhythm to the car. If you do a lot of accelerations and slowing downs, you will end up wasting fuel.

Remember to think the road in advance and when approaching areas that will impose you to change the speed, such as a hill. Accelerate until the hill’s base and save fuel by not forcing your engine while climbing the hill itself.

Living Together Differently

We tend to gravitate toward people who are most like us, at least in the ways that make us feel comfortable. But life has its way of bringing us into contact with people who challenge us with their differences. It may be an obvious difference reflected in their outward appearance or an invisible but powerful philosophical stance. Even in our closest circle of friends and family, though, there are those that confront us with their different ways of experiencing and expressing life. We can choose to resist, but we can also choose to learn from them and appreciate that they too have a place in the kaleidoscope of life.

As much as we may say that we want peace and quiet and a life without struggle, the truth is that human beings are currently thriving in a world of dualities and challenges. It is how we choose to approach these hurdles that determine if we sail over them, confirming our agility, or trip and end up face down in the dust. And each of us absolutely will and must stumble, and then get up, brush the dust off, and carry on. This is how we learn and grow, developing depth of character and shades of understanding. In a world of dualities, we have trouble defining ourselves without something opposite and can’t discover who we are. Without challenge, there is nothing to do and nothing to discover. That leaves us either in a state of nonbeing or in the state of pure spirit, but as humans, we are spiritual beings experiencing the physical world in all of its startling contrast and beauty.

No matter how spiritual we are, our lives will have challenges. We will always run into people that are different from us, but the true challenge may be in finding ways to be at peace with this process. Rather than give in to the fight-or-flight response that comes from our animal nature, we can find new ways to evolve together into higher, more beautiful expressions of ourselves, realizing, embracing, and celebrating the beauty of diversity and the strength it offers for the future.

DON'T WE ALL

I was parked in front of the mall wiping off my car. I had just come
from the car wash and was waiting for my wife to get out of work.
Coming my way from across the parking lot was what society would
consider a bum.
From the looks of him, he had no car, no home, no clean clothes, and no
money. There are times when you feel generous but there are other times
that you just don't want to be bothered. This was one of those "don't
want to be bothered times."
"I hope he doesn't ask me for any money," I thought.
He didn't.
He came and sat on the curb in front of the bus stop but he didn't look
like he could have enough money to even ride the bus.
After a few minutes he spoke.
"That's a very pretty car," he said.
He was ragged but he had an air of dignity around him. His scraggly
blond beard keep more than his face warm.
I said, "thanks," and continued wiping off my car.

He sat there quietly as I worked. The expected plea for money never
came.
As the silence between us widened something inside said, "ask him if
he needs any help." I was sure that he would say "yes" but I held true
to the inner voice.
"Do you need any help?" I asked.
He answered in three simple but profound words that I shall never forget.
We often look for wisdom in great men and women. We expect it from
those of higher learning and accomplishments.

I expected nothing but an
outstretched grimy hand. He spoke the three words that shook me.
"Don't we all?" he said.

I was feeling high and mighty, successful and important, above a bum
in the street, until those three words hit me like a twelve gauge
shotgun.
Don't we all?
I needed help. Maybe not for bus fare or a place to sleep, but I
needed help. I reached in my wallet and gave him not only enough for bus
fare, but enough to get a warm meal and shelter for the day. Those
three little words still ring true. No matter how much you have, no matter
how much you have accomplished, you need help too. No matter how little you
have, no matter how loaded you are with problems, even without money or
a place to sleep, you can give help.

Even if it's just a compliment, you can give that.
You never know when you may see someone that appears to have it all.
They are waiting on you to give them what they don't have. A different
perspective on life, a glimpse at something beautiful, a respite from
daily chaos, that only you through a torn world can see.
Maybe the man was just a homeless stranger wandering the streets. Maybe
he was more than that.

Maybe he was sent by a power that is great and
wise, to minister to a soul too comfortable in themselves.

Maybe God looked down, called an Angel, dressed him like a bum, then said, "go minister to that man cleaning the car, that man needs help."
